Driving back in Cali, Cali, Cali… (I don’t think so)

We spent a couple of nights in Eureka to visit some of Roxie's family and some friends of ours.

Here is our rig at the Eureka KOA:

The trailer uses a 50amp cord to hookup and that thing is like an anaconda.  Especially when it is cold and it was.

The friends we visited were Bob and Phyllis who accompanied us to the Balloon Fiesta and we met them at Casini Ranch.  Here they are:

It was sure good to see them again and visit for a bit.

The two nights ended and it was time to get on the road again.  We were going to stop at Sacramento for two nights again, this time to see Roxie's sister.  The route was US101 south to CA20 east then I5 south.  Shortly south of Eureka as the Avenue of the Giants that goes through the Redwoods.  We decided to drive through them for a while.  We were here a while back also.

After Sacramento we had the unenviable task of driving home.  Something was have done for countless years.  It is really the worst part of any trip, driving over roads you have done for YEARS!  We stopped in Fresno to show Aaron our trailer and his girlfriend took the nice picture of us:

One last word about California roads:  THEY SUCK!

I estimate we did 1800 miles on this trip, around 1000 with the trailer.  The towing and handling was great just a bit more weight was noticed.  Unscientific MPG numbers seem to be about 15mpg with the trailer on flat ground.  I can take that.
