100000 miles and time to fill the map!!

Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday I posted about hitting 70000 miles on the trailer. Well, now we are at 100000 miles! Just to be clear, this is 100K on our existing trailer, we have much more on the 4 tow vehicles that we have used with this trailer and it does not count the mileage we put on our ’92 trailer previous to this one.

Here is a spreadsheet of mileage per year:

The years 2013-2016 were our travels before we retired. 2017 was the first year of retirement but we didn’t start until May of that year. 2019 was our first Alaska trip and 2023 was our second Alaska trip. 2022 we did the Fall colors trip to the east coast.

Here is my Google maps view of where we have stayed with this trailer over the years, look for the turquoise colored flags. The dark green flags are places we would like to go:

You may notice on the annual mileage that we have dropped off by about 50% these last two years. We have not had many long trips. We have primarily been using the trailer as a hotel to visit relatives. It does a pretty good job in that function since we don’t have to pack/unpack when we get somewhere. Everything is ours and right where we know it is.

What does the future bring? Well, we do have those above-mentioned dark green flags but we also have another task. We need to fill out our map. On the inside of the trailer door we have a map of the USA and what states we have stayed overnight in. This desire for completion might drive our future travels, especially Florida. Here the what is missing (and completed):

Our future list includes, North Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont and Maine. Now we just have to figure out logistics.

  1. I’m excited to visit the states we haven’t been to yet 🙂 Thank you for keeping track of our travels together🫶
