Black and Grey. Don’t confuse them!

Most modern RV’s have two sets of waste tanks.  A grey one for all the semi-nasty waste water, from sinks and showers.  The black tank holds all the real nasty stuff, from the toilet.  One of the tasks that follows filling up the tanks is emptying them.  There is a whole sequence to follow when emptying but you want to do it the right way.  Do the black first and then you can use the grey to flush out the hose.  Some times, at some locales, you can just dump the grey wherever you would like.  BLM in Arizona was like that.

Since there are two dump tanks there are two dump valves and they are appropriately labeled but from my normal vantage point, this is what I see:

Now if I bend over:

Oh!  There are the labels clearly marked as Black and Grey.  Wait!  No they aren’t.  They are Main and Auxiliary (Wash)!  Must be a better solution for me.  Like this:

Much better.  Now I can tell what they are and without bending over!  They came with double-stick tape but I had to rivet them…

This weekend, not THAT weekend! (part 2)

Part 2 of the weekend, not that anything wonderful happened.  Saturday started out slow we actually just had lunch at the trailer for a slower pace but my ear was hurting for a few days.  Roxie convinced me to go to an urgent care.  I acquiesced and went.  They suspected an ear infection and prescribed ear drops.  This is good experience for us when we are on the road as we won’t have access to our normal physicians.

We headed downtown Pismo Beach for dinner.  There were numerous bikers everywhere which added to the ambiance.  We ate at Brad’s then headed back to the trailer for a movie in the trailer.  Relaxing day.

Sunday was the day to head back home <sigh>.  We knew we would also gain over 30 degree of heat <ugh>.  We got it all together and headed out.  We stopped at a fruit stand and I took this shot of the whole 55+’ of rig:

We stopped for lunch at Sylvester’s and immediately one of the customers started having a seizure.  Roxie went over to assist another RN that had taken over.  The person appeared to be OK as the ambulance took them away.  We then ordered and had lunch.  Atascadero has a very nice looking city hall:

It was a nice weekend but it just makes us want to go again and again…
